hi all

2 weeks ago my engine made a very scary rattling noise and i thought my big ends were gone.

removed the engine and stripped her down (still need to remove the head though)
and the big ends are indeed badly worn (all of them)
and the sump was filled with metal scrapings.
so that's the end of that engine.

thing i noticed when the engine suffored it's demise was that i lost oil pressure.
but sofar i can't spot what caused that.
what are possible causes for oil pressure loss?

she was just refilled, new oil filter installed and o cleaned the original oil filter relocator.

sorry to hear that dude but it might be the start of something new maybe?

as above dude or maybe something you did when giving her a bit of a service

was thinking it was something i did as it failed shortly after i serviced it.
but then again, what could go wrong with a filter/oil change?

first i thought it had something to do with the banjo bolt in the oil filter relocator. but that can't be it (i think)
but the engine had a major oil starvation cuz even the ct9 is f00ked. has quite some shaftplay :/

kroon 10w40 emperol oil. very good oil

ran into a slicht problem while stripping the block. the pully on the crank won;t come off. the nut is so tight that i even bent my homemade steel SST. will have to weld something a bit stronger together tomorrow.

made some pics of the crank and bearings. bottom was filled with metal scrapings :/ as far as i can tell they came from the bearings. the crank has slicht grooves in them aswell so will need a regrind too
