not being funny, but how do you know its a zep unit? if the sticker has fallen off have u kept it? if not, im sure when opened it, it had seals. i doubt u removed the seals from the side, if you did then im afraid that there is ZERO proof of what that ecu is..

im not trying to ruin your sale, but i can open up a stock one & show you that it is EXACTLY the same as the pic u have posted up.. there isnt even a daughterboard in there.. unless zep had the trd eprom flash tool kit i doubt they could have reprogramed it...

besides in the 6 years iv been on this site, browsed autions etc, i have NEVER heard or seen of a zep racing ecu.. jam, blitz, mines, toms, hrf, farina racers, ks-rom, sard i have seen, this zep unit im afraid never.. which is odd.. seeing that we sold over 40 of these ecu's over the years...

if im wrong i will appologise & delete my posts from your thread.. im just looking out for our members.. if u know what i mean..

It looks nothing like the stock ecu hybrid lol, stock ecu;

Also it does have a daughter board, you can see from another angle

If it isnt a ZEP ecu like the other one sold a week ago, then although they are both identical it 100% IS an aftermarket ecu made by SOMEONE

Good look with the sale Jonny

believe me konrad... they exist. I've seen 2 on the auctions before...and I've been browsing there since 2001.
I've had one too and yes they have a daughter board.

Are you sure about that?

And there is a daughterboard just hard to see from that photo

i dunno then... yes u can see it from that angle, in the other pics i didnt see it, however the pics iv seen of glanza ecu's are almost identical bar the daughterboard..

i suppose its best to leave as is, it seems to be an aftermarket unit, however imgoing to look into this further lol..

good luck with the sale, & sorry if i messed ur thread up, i just want to be 100% sure its a genuine unit..

if u would like any posts deleted pls just tell me :)

Its a genuine unit and in perfect working order and the only reason im selling it is to buy myself an emanage for my new engine as my engine decided to blow itseld to bits on me 2 weeks ago

so why did ur engine blow? 400 wasnt a bad price for this ecu caz like Hybrid ive been on here a long while and never heard of a Zep esp for a EP91..

but so many double standards these days...once upon a time if "1/8" of 1mm of the seal was missing or cut no one would buy it..lol

Whoever got it give us some feedback and maybe a RR result

This was running a motor and it blew up? and you're selling it for 400? and somebody bought it?

Whoever did, PLEASE get your mixtures checked with a wideband o2 sensor to avoid any potential issues, these ECU's aren't magical.

It was running 1,2 bar on a probably unforged engine though hence why it might of gone pop.

your a bit of a prat arn't you? you just assumed all of that.

it was for other reasons it blew up not the ecu

yeah thats why i wanted to know why it blew...doesnt matter ive seen these sort of ecu's (well not ZEP but Jam,blitz etc) run 1.5 bar on tdo4's stock internals and still alive up to now..

Wel before anymore of you blame the ECU for blowing my engine up.

the car blew a oil pipe off the oil relocation kit emptied the engine of oil and the engine blew itself to bits.

And no the oil light didnt come on before anyone asks.

Lot of smart arses jumping to conclusions on this site as per usual!

Didn't mean to come across like I did mate, just thought it'd be helpful to know what killed the motor. I feel your pain, have a 4e block sitting in my shed with a few too many holes care of oil warning lights not working.

However my advice still stands for the new owner of this ECU - don't just assume it'll be fine, get it checked out.

good to know mate what caused the engine the blow...I was sure it wasnt the Ecu..those things will take most things thrown at them..and still run rich
