Running a td04 billet hybrid but with no air filter, anyone got any ideas as to how to get something to fit? Oil filter is really close and dosent look like much can fit! Anybody have the same problem as i do t fancy getting mesh as been told itl restrict the turbo :) cheers

may have to run a "medium" spaced wire mesh ....i know a guy that runs this with no problem....i think he used the mesh from a cooking strainer

if its too finely knit mesh it will severely restrict your air flow

can a 90 degree elbow silicone hose fit between the turbo and filter space?

best option is a proper air filter.

Yea always wanted to do this but infront and out of the enginebay :)

i'm not a fan of mesh per say....but i think in some of these tight space set ups that it is better than nothing as it provides some degree of safety

Do you have a belly panel under your engine bay?
If not get one or get a filter on the turbo.
A turbo is sensitive to dust.
Even the fuel from a suck through system wares the blades completely over time.

What I do when I have no choice is use mesh and then silk stalking over it.
I rather lose 5hp and have a healthy clean engine with working rings and valve stem seals for 100000+km

Good advice, I've noticed over prolonged use the mesh doesn't catch everything. There's definitely an effect on the intake impellor blades which would be best avoided.
