pcv valve broke

my pcv valve has just snapped while i have taken it off to paint,can any1 advice me if it can be used without 1?as i guess the oil will piss out of the rocker cover please correct me if iam wrong and any advice would be most appricated cheers damo

From a previous thread mate:

Best to buy a grommet as well when replacing these. The old one can be brittle after many years of service. Here's the details on both:


Valve

Part number : 12204-10040

In the meantime don't block the hole, just let it push vapour out and keep an eye on the oil level. I think a new set will sting under £20 so not too bad. Head to Toyota and they will get them inside a few days.

A catch can an would fit, if the head can pull fresh air from it.
You could also run a breather, you know those small round filters.
