Im personally running a microsquirt (smaller version of the megasquirt)
Utilizing the 96 tercel block. It has a 36-2 trigger wheel and sensor on the oil pump. Perfect for standalones.
Running the car on pump and e85 with no hiccups at all.
I used to get 32mpg city with my ct9 hybrid 4efte tercel. Used premium and the 32mpg would be the occasional boosting. If I was flooring the car all day it would be 27-28mpg. Using 93 octane.
Oh man. I have been trying to run the idle up valve on the intake manifold in pwm for the past 3 weeks and its worked like crap. Ill try out the on and off and see if that improves anything. I appreciate the help. Ill definitely change those settings. Thank you!

So I used the megasquirt table generator to create a timing table for my stock 4e with a ct9 and it seems to be running good so far. It has 18.8 degrees of timing at 1 bar of boost. Is there a stock 4efte timing table available?
Also Im trying to figure out how to setup the stock PWM idle air...
I keep getting sync 11 error and occasionally 17
11 is too few teeth before second trigger
17 is didn't receive the second trigger when expected in wheel mode

Does anyone have a basemap for a stock 4efte ep82 on microsquirt or megasquirt? Having trouble getting it started. Runs for about 2 seconds and shuts off. Maybe the proper ignition settings needed first?
