The flatter side of the central disc (where the 4 springs are) is up against the flywheel, and the other side that sticks out more centrally is sat in the pressure plate. I don't think it would go on the other way because the flywheel bolts are in the way.

Right so I checked the voltage on the fuel pump and it was 4.67 volts or whatever. Thought I'd check the cable connection point to the back of the inlet manifold, sanded the top of the L ring terminal and bottom again as well as the manifold for the second time... fired up straight away. Great...

Well, put it this way, the gearbox alone got called a c*%t more times than I've had hot dinners.

The small black cable that has ring terminals on each end. It's not very long at all. I fixated the ground from the battery to the front chassis next to the rad. I needed more than alcohol to get through the bitching and moaning putting it all back together.
