This gasket is used to make a seal between the spark plug tube and the corresponding hole in the cylinder head cover.

Part Number : 11193-15010
Price : £9.89 inc vat retail (2006)

Note : A quantity of four is required if all are to be replaced.

Also included an Eejit's Guide to replacing these too :

Right, occassionally when working at 4EFTE's I find oil lying down around one of the sparkplugs. This usually results in a misfire once the oil saturates the plug and lead connection causing the engine to run off a cylinder giving poor performance.

The main suspect of this type of oil leak is the sparkplug chamber seal. The rocker cover has four of them, one for each chamber, and they are there to keep the oil in the cam case from entering the sparkplug chambers.

Over time they can wear and perish which leads to the leak we're dealing with here. Best practice is to replace the seals with new units and also replace any oil contaminated parts. Naturally that's between you and your budget so I'll not judge any of you.

You can see oil lying in this recess in the rocker cover from above:

The new seals are around £12 each from Toyota :

Prise out the old seals being careful not to damage the mating surfaces of the rocker cover:

Press the new seals into position with care, it's easy to damage them at this point:

Mission accomplished!

Hope that helps,
