Hi every one ive just brought a cheap auto gauge boost gauge from halfords and now its fitted it shows that im running 12-13 psi!! and i have a non modified setup all ive done is bypass the boost solinoid so im running full boost in all gears and a hks BOV. as i under stand it the standard boost setting is 0.65 bar which is about 9.5 psi so why is mine so high? could it be that the gauge ive got is totaly inaccurate or does any one have any ideas?

Its because you've bypassed the solenoid, it increases the boost slightly by doing this.

Put it back to normal and see what you boost at then.

Standard! The fuel cut would kick in at around 11psi so its either got an fcd and some sort of boost control or a split vacuum hose.

Lets clear this up. Fuel Cut happens when the MAP sensor reads exactly 13.5psi this appox 0.93BAR.
Your boost gauge will not read exactly the same as your map sensor hence the variations. Apart from that quality of the boost gauge is going to have some bearing on what it reads and also where exactly you have plumbed it in.

well ive plumbed it in to the hose that comes from the hks bov into the inlet mani think thats rite. the reason i bypassed the solinoid in the first place is because when its connected it runs about 4 psi tops and the 3rd boost light doesnt come on, also the low boost button makes no difference its like its stuck in low boost?? theres no leaks any where! does any one have any suggestions? and i have got fuel cut only hit it once and that was by being in 5th and not going fast just putt my foot down all the way!lol

I don't see that you have a problem. You are running below fuel cut and the gauge is probably over reading a bit or it may be just the cold weather and the fact you bypassed you solenoid.
You solenoid sounds like it may be fooked tho.

Finding a breaker is difficult.
A new one of toyota will probably cost alot.
Or you could use an EBC.

if youve bypassed the boost solenoid high and low wont work, youll need to get a dual solenoid boost controller to have high and low
