4E-FTE - Blue smoke at 1800-2200 RPM

Intoxicated

I recently upgraded the turbo to GT28 (Stock internals) running at 0.5 bar. Everything else seems to be working fine, there's some black smoke too but that's because it's running rich at the moment.

But I see blue smoke around 1800-2200 RPM, as the revs go higher, smoke disappears and when I rev it till 5000 RPM and let go off the accelerator, again around 2000 RPM it was throw some smoke.

I do not have any breather or anything on the tappet cover hole (apologies, don't know what it's called) - previously it was connected to the stock BOV but currently nothing there at all. FYI - it does not throw any oil from there though.

Please suggest, what do I need to do to fix the smoke issue?

Thanks.

if its not throwing oil from the rocker cover breather then you can pretty much rule out piston rings. do a compression test anyway though.

really could be two other things, that valve stem seals or turbo seals.

No oil at all from the rocker cover breather.

Slight traces of oil in the turbo compressor housing but nothing in intercooler piping around the inlet.

It worked absolutely fine with the stock setup (with ct9) - No smoke at all.

It's currently running rich though at 0.5 bar with GT28 - Upgrades have not been installed as yet (upgrades include, AVC-R, walbro, AEM wideband, bigger injectors, bee*r, FPR, etc)

Same issue - No smoke otherwise, only when I rev it hard till about 6500 RPM while driving and I let go the accelerator, I see a cloud around 2200 RPM.

No oil in the rocker cover breather - Turbo seems to be fine as well, as I said above - Other than that no smoke at all.

What could be the reason? PCV Valve? Somebody told me it could be the MAP sensor. :-/

Worried for the motor, any solutions?

take the decat off and have a look in the exhaust turbine, if there is oil in there it will most likley be the turbo seals. because as you said, there was no smoke at all with the CT9 you had running before.

you could try the PCV valve, but it would of smoked with the CT9 setup as well.

As above may no be cOmpressor side seals, might just be throwing it straight down the exhaust
Is it a garrett and was it bought new?

If it's the exhaust turbine seal, wouldn't it be smoking all the time then or probably when boosting but it doesn't do that. :-/
