5e clutch and flywheel options ?

Hey lads,

What are 5e guys using for clutch and flywheel combos. I know previously people have re-drilled the 4e flywheel but how reliable is this to do?

I also understand competition clutch do a flywheel conversion also?

212mm 3E flywheel,,,,, 4efte TRD sports/organic clutch,,,,,, 4efte TRD pressure plate

if you search the site, the part number is available for the 212mm 3ETE flywheel

Thanks. I found the 3E part number but they have since been discontinued by Toyota .

persons have reportedly redrilled 4efte flywheels with no issues---this is done by reputable machine shops,,,, you will need the 5e crank bolt pattern from a 5e flywheel/flex plate/flex plate spacer.

PS, i have not done it personally because it doesn't sit well with me

Can I ask why redrilling did not sit well with you? I have been doing some research and from I can gather the holes need elongated on the 4e flywheel to fit the 5e crank?

yeah, i saw a friend's ORC flywheel holes elongated/slotted to fit the 5e,,it worked great with no issues--though the machine shop indicated the metal was extremely hard compared to the usual OEM flywheel

i got lucky enough to find the required 3E flywheel locally (free of cost lol)....,my second option was to purchase/import an Aasco flywheel... i did consider redrilling my stock 4efte flywheel as my third option

i generally prefer things as perfect/oem as possible to reduce any risks...plus i've seen videos/pictures of redrilled flywheels failing in spectacular fashion for various reasons on the internet
