Depends where you get the engine and components - recently prices of 5E's have been grossly inflated, you used to be able to get them easily for £100-150, but even scrapyards have wisened up to the demand.

Components, you'll need to shop around, but I think the traders offer full turnkey engines for around £1800-2000

Cheers lads, been reading a few posts and peoples diff views about forged 4e 5e engines, and seen a few vids ect (irish drag racing slagging thread) so like TM developments do a forged engine £1950ish? there a petty much the same money.

haha :haha: yea im vvvv intrested in a 5e, i read on here they dont like to be revved as hard as the 4e?, How do you rate the 5e, did you go 5e never look back? or is it worth staying 4e?

Any body els has any advice, thoughts, inputs ect feel free

defo worth going 5e i would easyer to get to your goal =-target you want in power ect, price wise all depends what parts are used ie pistions -ross-
different rods -acl bearings or stock toyota bearings aftermark vale springs or stock vale springs. i would say £2500 inc cam and cruise vale springs.

If i was going to go 5e i wouldnt cut corners, because it would just catch up to you in the end lol, so as you say it would be the likes of acl bearings ect

Theres not a day goes by where i don't look at that engine, is that 4e tho?

they look the same, i got mine done there, you have to budget for injectors, fuel pump, your turbo set up, what managemant your using & the mapping session, maybe boost controller, brakes, engine mounts......the list goes on

well gglavin i got all these upgrades u metioned here and when ever i drive my car i really wonder why the Japanese do not put in a 5e in the first place .Good lord i love this car

Iv got fuel pump, got my turbo set up, iv got my management, boost controller, engine mounts would get done ect..
