i have 5EFHE engine with 4EFTE piston, 5EFHE intake manifold with 63mm throttle body. wolf v4 plus ECU, 450cc injector and TD05 16g turbo i gettin 235hps.
a friend told me i can get more with 4AGZE block and black top head.
how easy if swap and do u think i should do 4AGE hybride swap?

is that @ wheels or at fly?

for the effort of having to turbo that block and make it fit properly that would be a complete pain in the ass.

the 5e should give you huge power easily enough for wat you need?

people are seeing over 350whp on 5e

It seems you have a nice engine. might not be well tuned...
If you don't like it, send it to me. I'll see what I can do with it ;)

i'm with azerty...........nice engine the 5e is

stick with it..........it can make some serious power........no need for 4agze unless u really want to be different

seems like u need a proper tune ........i assume u have all the supporting mods like aftermarket ecu or piggyback, exhaust, manifold, etc

4agze block and 20V head would be the ultimate swap, but its not cheap. Parts are expensive for the 4a, but support is second to none. Hasselgren makes a NA 4a for the formula atlantic series and is reported to break 330HP. Imagine boosting that. Last I heard there was a guy in Canada that made over 400HP on a boosted 4a-20V.

The question is this. How much do you like driving the car around? In my opinion, you can't drive a 300+ hp car around without buying other parts like uprated brakes, suspension, etc.

5efhte is a good and easy swap....it can give you a lot of power...but if you want real power you could always swap to the 4agze ....BT head on it and turbo it.

you will have 1.6 20V twin charge monster.

it is possible, but very expensive

stick with your 5E and build it properly, with forged rods and pistons, ported head, cams and you will still not have reached the cost to put a stock 4AGZE in, and you will be makin more power than a stocker 4AGZE :)

Stick with the 5efte seeing as you have already gone to the effort of what you have done.

4AGE is much wider then a E series engine ( 87mm bore IIRC where as E series is just 74, oer 4 pistons that adds up meaning the A series engine wont physically fit in a starlet engine bay without major modification!

problem is it harder to parts for 5EFHE is harder to get.
4AGE and 4AGZE easyer to find. and 235hp with 15psi is good where i from.

To fit the 4AGZE to the Starlet requires frame work. Can it done??? Yes. Does it cost a lot of money??? Hell yes!! With your current 5EFTE and proper tuning if you are using forged pistons and steel rods, the engine is capable of making 300+ to the wheels.

pistons and rods r standard the only thing i doing next is coil per plug
u c i from barbados the gas poor.
i think i keep engine and forge it up and change the turbo to bigger 1
any ideal ppl to which turbo to use i looking fa about 300 to 350hps

We made 465hp in our 4agte 20v, engine is in a starlet EP70.
It was stock 20V silverhead, with 145 agze pistons and rods.
Very funny car..

hey....fellow bajan..........great
well then as u know the 4a swaps have been done....mostly aspirated from what i know....anyway....yeah, build the 5e properly and run some nice boost on the td05.........they have a few verions depending on what power u want and when u want it..

i'm talking about the full works---cams, knife edge crank, lighten fylwheel, proper clutch assembly, forge rods, forge pistons, port and polich head, yada yada, etc......u probably dun know the drill,,,but $$ got to spend........u looking at about BDS$4 - BDS$15k to do it right, depending on how far u go.........but really depends on what u want

still better o invest in 5e,,,,as buying the 4a engine and just installing it properly will set u back about $3k already...or more

probably get a conservative tune for everyday crap gas,,,,,,,,,,,,and another for the "better" gas

and at 15 psi......the tdo5 probably aint even sweating yet......most people even run the smaller tdo4 much higher to get more out of it, farless the td05

235bhp in a 900-1000kg car on Bajan roads should be more than enough! I have learnt that unless you are a straight road illegal street drag racer, concentrating on the handling and balance of the car give far better results than all out engine power. I personally aim for low-mid rpm response with handling where you can enjoy corners, not fear them. You will have a truely well balanced weapon then.
