5EFTE Question

Hi guys,

I recently just had my 5efte engine rebuilt with all forged bits etc but when it came to fitting the cambelt, everything fitted on just fine but there seems to be lots of play in the little spring on the tensioner. Its on secure but just flops around and has no tension to it. I compared it to my flatmates old 4efte i got sitting here and hers is on tight and the spring has no movement. Hope i have explained it correctly but i can put a photo up later if needed. Im just wondering if something is not right as to why it is like that.

I would replace the tensioner just to be safe

Are you putting the old cam belt back on???

If you jus had the engine rebuilt i would of thought you have brought a new cam belt, a cam belt kit is only like £50 this has belt,roller an tensioner...

Everything is new, new camblet, idler, tensioner, oil pump etc...
