Well as no one else has made a guide on how to make a EP70 turbo conversion, i thought i would have a bash at it, so you can also take the piss out of my Welsh Accent. Car was originally a 1.0 litre, this guide shows how to fit a 4E-FTE turbo charged engine in it (while also keeping its original looks)

So here goes

EP70 Starlet Turbo conversion (This is a sleeper build)

The Starlet to be converted

A completely standard 1E, 1.0 litre(50hp) Mk2 EP70 Toyota Starlet - 1986

The end result of the conversion (Sleeper/Turbo power!)
Except its gone from 55hp to about 201bhp![/b]

Tools required
I recommend getting your self the Halfords Advanced Tool set, £99 its really good quality and contains practically all the tools you need.

Halfords Advanced tool set
Soldering Iron
Drill
Engine crane
Jacks
WD40
Grease
Lots of cups of tea
A handy friend to help!

Equipment required

An ep70 Starlet
An Ep82 Donor car
A complete 4e-fte engine
A complete FULL EP82 wiring loom

Difficulty rating

This is as hard as it gets so 5/5 spanners by Haynes standards, it took me 2 and half months to complete, but i had to figure it all out myself and I have documented everything that will trip you up. So you should be able to complete it in half the time.

Work required

Everything that was a pain in the ass was documented with video, everything from the EP82 is a straight swap into the EP70. The easiest way i found to do it was in this order.

1. Remove the old EP70 engine
1.2 Remove the EP82 Engine
2. Remove the EP70 dash
3. Fit in the additional EP82 Wiring loom (the car will now have two looms) one to power the engine and one to power the cars electrics.
4. Wire in the ep82 ignition to the EP70 loom
5. Put the engine and gearbox in
6. Swap everything else over from the EP82, i.e suspension etc

Have a watch of the vids below and you will get the general idea. I am always available for help if you need it.
