If its for the scoob...use castrol syntrax (Semi synthetic) for gearbox and diff...its the most recommended for the scoob gearbox and diff as they dont like fully synthetic oils in the gearbox and diff...i used Silkolene Syntax 5 (full syn) last time and the wynining is really annoying with it plus the gears where a bit sticky...switched back to Syntrax and its back to normal....Just check if its good for the clutch type LSD the STI have as i got the mechanical type...Cheers Mark

hey mark, long time no see on TGTT !
thanks for the STI gearbox oil advice, nice to know when I'll have to change it :) my gearbox is a group N short ratio gearbox with DCCD transmition (adjustable electromagnetic LSD)
For now, I'm looking to know which oil is used on 4efte gearbox that has aftermarket LSD. (TRD, Cusco, Kaaz, quaife...)
Thanks for those who have already answered ;) in Mauritius it is not easy to get specific oil, so It is all good to know your experiences. That could also help new LSD owner to choose their own oil

Get what ever the manufacturer of the LSD recommends, if it's an OEM unit then speak to Sooby, if it's aftermarket speak with them. Best way in my opinion Lionel otherwise you go around in circles with recommendations.

Obviously with a Sooby you will have more information on forums with what works and what doesn't so another good place to try, with Starlets not so easy as not as many have LSD's and there's quite a few to choose from meaning test reports are fairly limited.

Ah right should have read it through! What LSD do you have or did you plan to buy one? If so just get what they recommend easiest way really :)
