right got the profec b off, put new pipes on and connected everything up including the hi/lo

what the problem is, lo boost is fine, feels like lo boost, but when its on hi boost its over boosting like fook, gauge said 15psi at one point! ive changed all the hoses i can think of but its still doing it!!

any ideas?

Sure you havent split one of the vac pipes putting it on? Sorry I've never used the hi/low thing, first thing I took off the GT when it came :p

just changed every pipe again dude, and thats the 3rd time ive done the one on the turbo/actuator!

unless the gauge is fooked? it has a FCD but i dont intent having to use it, even tho the engine management light should still come on if it hits .85?

a fcd will stop the light coming on as it wont see fuel cut.

mine is similar mate. i put a resrictor in the bleed off line on the hi/lo solenoid and it improved it. going to try a smaller reducer to see if that will stop it completely.

wierd as the management light did come on the other day? the car is a wiring nightmare, the guy before me loves block connectors and hacking into wires!

oh well, lo boost for the time being it is!

sounds like some bits of my car. sorted most of the bodgery but the fog lights still dont work as that has had some strange jap lighting stuff installed on them!

the management light may have been something else!?

pain in the arse aint it! i had mess and bodged shit :p

who knows, it was as i was boosting it, hit about 14/15psi and it came on, put the brakes on and it went off, the fcd is wierd straight into the ecu if that makes any difference! was gonna take it out but again its a complete shambles!

it should shudder if it hits fuel cut, mines odd though as it shudders but the light doesnt come on and it doesnt record having hit fuel cut when doing the ecu fault check???

my fcd was wired direct into the ecu. i just removed it. just cut the power and ground connectors and then rejoined the map sensopr connector and its all been fine. burnt myself enough with the damn soldering iron doing it though :(

the previous owner of mine seemed to love fibreglass, everything was held together with fibreglass. hate bodgers :( :( :(

it sort of jolts then keeps going as the fcd is still connected, need to get rid of it tho, not really my cup of tea, wanna get the car engine wise back to standard, but this overboosting is pissing me off! always tomorrow i suppose, still cant work out why its fine on lo but not hi...

crap aint it, you think youve bought a nice example until you start to take all the trim off!!

i knew mine was a bit shit as it was fairly cheap. in some respects it is a bit shoddy but in others its good. problem is im comparing it to my other GT thats had a fortune spent on it and its spot on.

the boost problem is fairly common tbh mate. what boost are you actually getting? im getting about 0.5 in lo and 0.85ish in hi but sometimes just pops above that and judders, never get a light or fault code though!?

like i said, try restricting the pipe that goes from the boost solenoid to the efi pipe. that should help it

will do dude, put a smaller hose on it!

just off the phone to someone who knows a lot about em, and since it blue smokes sometimes he is thinking the turbo seals are fooked and the wastegate is cracked so it would just launch the boost all over the place.

^^^ he obviously doesnt no alot about them,if he is saying its cutting because the turbo is smoking and the exhaust housing is cracked
