Athena head gasket opinions please!!

most people use them on forged builds including myself.

They seem to do the job.

I currently have a 1.4 athena and i don't have any problems to date, i would like to change to a 1.2mm but I'm not disturbing the head as it runs spot on.

The only problem i did have was a tiny bit of a coolant leaking from the 4E mark on the front of the block but it cleared in the first 2-3 miles.

Yea i heard it does leave a small gap thats the only thing that might change my mind.

I was looking at a ZEP Racing gasket and i heard they are very good to.

zep and cruise gaskets are very good too but they dont have all of the waterways open on them.
Athena HG's have all of the waterways open which is better for cooling.

I currently have a Athena 1.2mm HG for about 10000 km on a forged engine running 1.6bar of boost and luckily didn't had any problems!!!! I also tested Zep racing and Cruise gaskets they are very good options but far more expensive from Athena!!! I find this gasket very good for its money!!!

Could be worth a purchase then because i wont be running anything more than 1.0 bar boost. Did you find that there were any leaks??

On a friend's EP85 we used Athena gasket twice!!! Nothing went wrong with the gasket we boost the car up to 2.5 bar along with 70 shot of wet nitrous and there wasn't any problem !!!! I was afraid like you when he told me to try Athena gasket for my build!!! Give it a try in my opinion!!!!! :)
