Tbh mate you want to ideally cancel youre card if anything. a DD is an agreement with the company and yourself for them to debit youre account. so if you cancelled them youre end they still have the right to take the money. when you set the direct debit up, you would have done it with your card, so if you cancel the card, the numbers will change and they cant take it out.

But as Turboflow rightly said, they cant now take if they specified a date 3 weeks ago.

Go mad!

You've used the service therefore it should be paid for. I've never had an insurance company send out the proof of no claims, i've always had to chase it up.

phone em up and ask them why it wasnt taken when they said it was supposed to have been and now this is causing you an inconveniance... see if they will knock anything off it for that as they really should do, but as we all know most insurance companies are c**ts... by rights yes you do owe the money but if they havnt taken it when you and the advisor agreed it would come out then thats technically their fault they havnt been paid not yours & you should just complain about the inconveniance it is now causing you as they have not done what was agreed =) and if u really wana go for it ask to see if theres a recording about the said phonecall you had when you changed over the car.
