I found out today after going for a long boring drive that i do have boost but it doesn't kick it till about 5000 rpm when before it use to kick in about 3000 rpm.

I have recently fitted a front mount intercooler and since after i fitted it i haven't had boost, or so i thought, is there any way i can change when the boost kicks in back to about 3000rpm and not 5000 rpm??

Sounds like a boost leak in your cause a intercooler leak check the clamps or clips you have on it? What turbo you running? Did u upgrade turbo?

I've checked all the clamps and they are nice and tight, it's still the standard ct9 turbo, I don't understand hy cause it was boosting about 3500 rpm before I fitted th intercooler.

If its not a leak it could be that the waste gate is faulty and even the area around the waste gate seal could be badly cracked/burned through.
You could also have a bad exhaust leak.
The turbo could also be bad. Check the shaft play on it :)
And as tripple j said.

Right, now I'm going to sound dumb, which part is the wastegate? lol as I'll check those bits on the weekend when I have more time to do it.

Cheers for the reply guys

These are actuators. There is a pipe attached to it that controls the diaphragm inside the actuator, the diaphragm can go bad (or the spring inside can go bad)<-- problem

Cracks, only when they are way worse than these it will do what you are experiencing

How much boost do you have at 5000rpm?

I don't have much, I don't have a boost gauge so not sure on the pressure of it but you can feel a very little amount of boost, not near as much as what it was

Then you might have a timing problem or a fubar turbo.
If its a boost leak then the boost sound will be harder than normal.

Hopefully its a little boost leak in the intercooler..... And hopefully i can patch it up qucikly and cheaply

did u use a used fmic or new one? cores could be blocked..

Yeah i bought it of a chap of here (snails p91) that breaks Glanza's for parts

Aye, looks like I'm going to have to borrow my mums hair drier to test it for leaks then lol

easier method is to cover one end and pour water through the other. or else submerge the cooler in water and blow air thru the open side (inlet) making sure it doesnt leak at the inlet.
