C Series Gearbox Dimensions

Does the NA gearbox C150 have smaller dimensions than the C52/56.

I test fitted C60 internals in a C150 and it didn't work. (Gearset too 'long' case wouldnt close on the bellhousing but shafts were in the right position to install snap ring)

I remember some references that the Cxxx and the Cxx weren't interchangeable but I couldn't find anything definitive.

Can someone please confirm that three digit gearboxs are ~10mm shorter and 2 digit gearboxes wider... Or is it not that simple?

That's something I've never had the occasion to check unfortunately. Hopefully someone with some firsthand experience can offer an answer.

I Have a C52 in my Ep82 I'll check on that and report back with my findings. I have heard that a C160 6 speed fits without requiring a chassis leg notch so that kind of leads me to believe that it is infact true. Unconfirmed as of yet though.
