Cam cover gaskets keep leaking :(

Never used to have issues with this, but in recent years, I have had issues with the cam cover gasket leaking.

These have been fresh rebuilds with new genuine gaskets, everything was clean and torqued correctly.
I have tried with sealant in the corner bits and without and I still get issues. This has been on 2 of my starlets, the other one I did 10+ years ago is still holding strong!

It tends to leak at the rear left corner in most cases.

Any suggestions???

i use sealant in the rocker cover groove where the gasket sits and on the face of the gasket that mates to the head when installing these. I have also come across a warped rocker cover in the past that kept leaking

It never leaked before I took the engine out to rebuild, so unlikely it's warped now.
I've also another engine that had the same issue, so seems like something I am doing wrong, but I've never had issues until the last 10 years ish.

I may try sealant again, but I never used to use it and had no issues :( I don't want to go extreme and sealant the whole gasket!!!!!

Haven't had too much hassle with 4E but I could never get 3S covers to seal properly. Always have had to run a light bit of extra sealant along the flat surface on them for some reason. Annoying.

Maybe the covers have a slight kink ? I've never had an issue in many years of 3s flavours antics
4e same as the 3s, a wee dab in the corners over the cams where it meets the face
