Car running 3 cyls.

Ok.. winter had popped a core plug it wouldnt start... put the plug back in it wouldnt start..

found out it jumped 4 teeth... got new timing and so.. it ran fine 2 or 3 days down the line to go for mot... start the car its running on 3 cyls...

tryed diff injectors.. tryed petrol in the car.. checked the plugs & dizzy.
all seemed fine.

any ideas???

The 4E, when entirely standard, is a totally non-interferance engine, so even though the belt had skipped, if unmodified, the pistons shouldn't have touched the valves.

However, after such an incident as blowing a coreplug out, I would definately be doing a compression test before replacing anything whatsoever.
