cheap performance tips please.

Hi guys,
was wondering if anyone wud know any cheap ways to improve my cars power without sacrificing reliability and fuel consumption too much.
my car is a jap ep82 16v 4efe, 4speed manual.
also any cheap handling improvement recomandations also appreciated.

strange you have a 4 speed box. check if your car has pink injectors, they mean it has the 100ps engine. if not you could try to source a 100 ps setup(ecu, injectors, inlet mani)

Cheap preformance mods would be gut the cat and fit cold air induction kit. For handling I'd would go with rear anti roll bar

Get rid of any unwanted weight, or anything that may put load on the engine
-air con removal
-power steering removal
-spare wheel, seats, carpets, deppends how drastic your weight saving will strech
- if you have any large gauge power cable, a nice little mod is replacing all the OEM grounding cables
- higher pressure radiator cap
- high performance oil
- high flow airfilter
Im sure theres loads more cheeky little mods, but thats all i can think of

would loosing the air con and changing the ground wires do much for it?
alreadi have a good air filter with a hard pipe off a levin.
would a rocker cover breater do much for it.

If you have a drill you can do it your self just need to get a dremal and replacement gaskets. I'm sure there a guild on how to do this on here some were.

as its n/a then about £500 might get you about 10bhp. after that it gets more expensive.

i would just go with giving it a good service. exhaust and filter and some decent brake pads as already mentioned. otherwise you will be putting alot of money into it for very little gain

are them cheap chips that are supposed to add between 15 and 25 hp any good. i think they are about 30euro
