clonky steering!?

In an effort to give my daily GT some love I have been working through all its little niggly issues. next on the list is the steering.

All seems generally fine, but if I am at a standstill and move the steering from side to side, I get a clonk sound?

I have tried to trace it and had no luck. I have checked my low mileage Ep82 that never comes out the garage, and that is the same, so is my Ep85 and my crappy fiat. So maybe it's just normal to have some slight clonking when doing this and I should forget about it?

i get this also, might be the rack worn possibly or worn U-J under the steering wheel? it wouldn't be a starlet if it didn't have a random noise.

im guessing its just normal. all UJs and everything else is ok, so much be the rack.

as i said, my fiat does it too and that has had a recon rack fitted.
