Have been reading a few threads on this and i have found the infomation on the toyota coils yet all of the cars i have seen running this have been using honda coils. Is there a reason for this?

You can use any coils you want as long as your ecu can control them. Coils vary as some have the ignitors built in and some don't, some offer a higher voltage spark than others also.

Any coil will do the job :) For the convenience would be to have ignitors built into the coils, ie the civic type r coils from an ep3. Which are a very popular option, but of course others can be used.

Coils are better since the dwell time can be increased giving the coils a longer time to create a strong/large magnetic field before clapsing, where as a single coil with 4 outputs has a short dwell time since it has to supply all 4 spark plugs with a strong enough spark to ignite the mixture.

Toyota coils are cheaper than Honda's thats the only reason that most people uses Toyota coils!
But i think that Honda coils are better..
I am searching both coils specs to find out about that. I use also Toyota coils..
