Compression Ratio

One thing i dont quite understand is CR.

What would be ideal CR for a 5e?

From research, the stock 4efte is 8:2:1 and a 5e with 4efte pistons is 9:1.

Ive been told that a low compression engine (close to stock CR) would be best. So do i go for a ratio close to 8:2:1?

What would i need? I already have 10cc dished pistons but what H/G do i go for?

A thicker one to stock to increase the CR? :$

Thanks

There are many other things that are more important than the compression ratio, your going to need it mapping to get the best from it anyway so I wouldn't worry too much. I'd take a better thinner HG and a better designed combustion chamber of a lower compression ratio anyday. We run 9.5:1 and higher on some high boost application.

Sorry but what would that mean? yes go for a MLS 1.2mm HG or go thicker to lower the CR?

I know managment and the tune will play a part in the driveability but would also like to know what good CR is to go for.

thanks
