CV fitting problem

Rite, got round to changing my cv joint, fitted the shaft lovely everything in place, last job to do was to pop it into place, then i come across this problem, the cv is too big to engage with the wheel bearings, as you can see from the pics there is a lip where the old one went into, the arrow pointing out where i mean,

any one had this problem with fitting new ones?? its the correct one, splines etc, just seems to big

i guess you dont have abs? if not remove the abs ring. just tap off with a hammer and punch/screwdriver.

if you have abs then something is amiss there.

had same problem, the ring has to come off, a flat screw driver and hammer do the trick.

yes, just tap with screw driver and hammer and it should pop of the joint, you dont need it
