Driveshaft Question...

Passenger side driveshaft fell out few weeks ago because engine mounting cracked...just wondering would another drive from another toyota eg.(Non-turbo strarlet r ep91,carina,corolla) do r does it have 2 b starlet turbo 1....Help appreciated...:beer:

You can use NA Starlets not sure on other models, but you need to know the spline counts as they could and may be different which would mean you have to replace the hubs and CV's. What is wrong with your shaft have you stripped the hub splines or did literally hit the ground at speed?

Hopefully someone with a NA can clarify for you. We sell billet shafts if needed but may be a tad overkill!

Counted splines while ago...30 splines...got a drive from scrapyard off a toyota dunno which model but had less splines n was same length as gt shaft but was a tiny bit off...

Yeah that is the problem you will find, we used GT hubs and shafts in our SR conversion years ago so can be done just a fiddle getting the right ones in your case.

What is up with yours?

Just da inner side wit da 3 knuckles one hit off da ground wen it fell out n bearings went everywhere..not nice situation 2 happen on da middle of a roundabout on da main road 2 dublin 4m cork..........(",)...Just really cant afford a new drive..!!!

normal starlet na driveshafts wont fit as there are less splines the ones to use is the ones off the toyota paseo. i found this out on the weekend when i tried to fit just the driveshafts off a paseo but there thicker and didnt fit the hub, so i had to fit all the hub and breaking setup too, the paseo shares the same driveshafts and brakes as the GT!
