Emanage blue problem

My car went no be mapped but for some reason the mapper can't adjust the ignition timing through the emanage. Any ideas on how to solve this problem. The emanage is recognising the change but not making anymore power

Is it a blue or ultimate?

no im not using any adaptor. the mapper has tried advancing 2 degrees and the emb is letting him do it but its just not making and difference. we have double checked the jumper settings and wiring and they are correct. i havnt checked the codes yet

Without the knock sensor adapter it's likely the stock ECU is retarding the ignition timing using the signal from the knock sensor. It won't matter how much timing you add with the EM, the stock ECU will just trim it back off.

If the stock ECU detects a circuit fault with the knock sensor, identified by a code 52, it'll lock the spark advance and again any adjustment made with the EM will have no affect.

There is also another intercepting box i think you need to use on the Ep's with the emanage that stops the stock ecu from reverting the timing back to what the stock ecu thinks it needs to be, but hopefully an emanage user/tuner can confirm this...
It's poss this could be your problem, but not sure on this as i run different management.

Edit... What Texx is suggesting makes sense!

well im going to try the knock sensor adaptor and see if that helps. will i also need the injector, ignition harness and map sensor? the emb has been hard wired in and the mapper didnt come up with any other problems apart from this and my boost controller wouldnt boost over .9 bar

Ideally you should have the knock sensor adapter and both the ignition and injector harnesses, the 3 bar pressure sensor is only really required for running a boost pressure higher than 1.2bar.

What's this knock sensor adaptor. I have a AEM FIC and with it I can modify timing without this adaptor.

i havnt a clue mate. ive just managed to get one for £40 delivered so im gonna fit it and hopefully it solves the problem. ive been reading alot of peoples threads that are using the emanage blue and alot of them aernt using the knock sensor adaptor

First time I ever heard of it as well an i asked around an none of my friends with EMBs ever used it either

Something else that's worth checking is that the knock sensor hasn't worked itself loose, if it's rattling around the stock ECU could be interpreting the noise as engine knock.

Or the knock sensor maybe faulty and giving an incorrect reading, you could try removing it from the block (it needs to remain connected though and you'll have to add a ground wire to the body of the sensor) and wrapping it in some foam (such as a car sponge) and then see if it's possible to add some ignition timing via the EM.
