Emanage Problem

"When using the e-manage’s ignition harness with these some TOYOTA ECUs the maximum advance/retard that can be set is around +/- 6 degrees. Any more than this will result in an error being detected as there will be a time difference between the IGt signal being sent and the IGf signal being received by the
ECU. This will result in the Check Engine light coming on, base ignition timing being set and in some cases the injectors may be shut-off. This restricts usage of the e-manage’s ignition timing function to only +/- 6 degrees."

I found this somewhere (cant remember now). Does this apply to the 4E-FTE?

Reason i am asking is that after installing my emanage blue, i got error 12 coming up which is an ignition error.

And i cant seem to fix it! i have tried changing ignition parts (coil, igniter, distributor, ECU) and same problem.

Alll comments welcomed.

i havnt heard of the ignition timming theory before? might be worth ringing some tunners and asking.

as for the error code, check all your wiring over.

i have never heard about this ignition issue you speak of....and i know numerous people that have ran emanage on the 4efte/5efte with many different set ups.........and NEVER have i heard a single report about this

the only thing people sometimes get confused with is the jumper settings and wiring as far as i have observed......naybe some tuning parameters when they try to do the tuning themselves
