Engine Oil Issue, turbo leaking - Need Help!!

Hey guys, I was using CT9 on stock internals and was using Liqui Moly 10w40 oil and everything was fine, never had no smoke or any issues.

Recently I upgraded the turbo to GT28, initially used 20w50 and it was somewhat okay, some traces of smoke.

Changed it to Liqui Moly 10w40 and now it smokes on idle right after boosting, literally a cloud of smoke.

My tuner says I should not use 10w40 - My research tells me that 10w40 should not be a problem as long as the turbo is fine.

I'm now in the process of changing the turbo, can someone suggest if getting a turbo re-do kit or something will help.

Or suggest me what oil grading should be used? I'm guessing the turbos that i'm getting here are abused and weak. :-/

in the conditions in pakistan you will be fine using the 20w50, its really hot so your better of using the thicker oil.

10w40 is recommended in the Uk.

the fact that the smoking problem came after replacing the turbo means that your turbo is worn. that is the seals must be worn in the turbo. did you check shaft play to accertain this?

did you use engine flush? most people get similar problems after using a flushing agent to flush out old oil before replacing new. this should never be done..

..or else you might have a seized piston or cracked ring lands or worn cylinder bore.

Nope, engine was not flushed - Just changed the oil from 20w50 to 10w40 and it starts leaking oil probably.

Changing the turbo in a day or two, that should solve the problem.
