id say the altenator,if youve lights obviously battery is ok but when you cut out and the battery symbol came up its cause the altenator isnt charging the batt cause it aint working

If the alternator is dead the car will run for a while but it will be using the battery power for ignition spark, indicators...everything. The alternator charges the battery and provides all the electrical needs of the running car. When the battery finally run out of enough power to keep the ignition cycle going the car will die. The lights may still come on because there is battery power enough to work them but the car will not start. Turn the headlights on and see if they die when you try to start the car...if so it may be a weak battery caused by no alternator charge.

How many times do people need to say alternator before you stop asking if its the alterator? I think newguye gave a pretty detailed, understandable explaination.

I'd say its your alternator!

then just disconect the battery.
if there is any prob with your altenator the engine with stop.
i think thats the easiest way to check your altenator

if it was alternator the lights wouldnt b wrking which they r i turned them on for near 10 mins an still as bright as ever.

i wuld love 2 start the engine but thats my problem wen i turn the key theres nothing there its just dead.

yeah found out thats wat the warning symbol was but my sensor is unpluged cos of decat so dunno if thats why that came up.
