Ep82 rad hose

Iv just pickd up sum new samco rad hoses for my ep82 went to change them and noticed that my top rad hose is split in two wit a metal joiner wit a wire cumin frm it ? Any idea what dis is ? Wud it b for a temp gauge r sumting ?

couldnt tell you what the wire is cause as far as i know there is no wiring to the rad itself! if u can just pull it off and trac where its connected too then just put your samcos on! i know mine hasnt isnt split in 2! ( '94 gt ) im about to start rewiring my car tomorrow and havent seen anything so wouldnt worry about it!

most likely a temp sender for an aftermarket gauge. if you dont have the gauge then i would just remove it. or you could just cut your new pipes and fit it if you wish

coolant temp sensor

@ kearnsy gt: mate, that's for an after-market coolant temp sensor. i'm sure you have one installed..? that's where it picks its readings from..

thats exactly what it looks like mate . I hav a an aftermarket siris temp gauge in the car it was in it wen i bought it bt it works wen it wants to jst never seen that wit the rad hose b4 . Thanks
