FCD causing idle problems

Right, bougth a second hand HKS FCD. Wired it in no probs there but when its connected the idle is rough as and the engine is running rich as at 2000 rpm.

Im talking 9.4 AFR here! And it stops as soon as i remove it. Is the FCD faulty?

I am 100% sure i have wired it in correctly.

Did you wire it in directly to the ECU plug, or via the MAP sensor in the engine bay?

Also what setting is it on?

Has it got a good earth?

Its at the ECU, setting was at 6 but nothing changed when varying the setting.

The earth i cannot be sure i think i used the stereo one but ill check.

Hmmm...well 6 isn't the setting you want but if adjusting it makes no difference I'm not too sure. (Ideally you want setting 8 or 9).

I had a similar problem with a JAM FCD. Wired in 100% correctly but it would make the car idle terribly (hunt up and down) and when driving off boost the car would splutter and stall occasionally - but on boost it was absolutely fine! Was very odd and I just took the FCD off as I assumed it was faulty. Maybe someone else has some input mate..
