For Sale: Fully Forged TD04 96 Glanza V 202 BHP
Condition: Superb considering year and mileage
Price and conditions: £5595
Extra Info: Price adjusted (justifiably) as I've just purchased new Jap Mad X Grooved Discs, Yellow Stuff Pads Buyers can opt not to have them fitted to bring the price down to £5500.
It pains me to say this but, up for sale is my much loved and cared for 1996 Glanza V. The car has covered 90,000 miles so far. It has had much work put into it to renew and upgrade the key components needed for a long lasting high performance starlet suitable for track and/or fast road use.
It has recently been fitted with a fully forged engine built to a high spec that will support up to 400 bhp should the need arise.
Engine Spec:
Wiesco 74.5mm Low Compression Pistons
Scat Forged Con-Rods
Trd 0.6mm Metal Head gasket
Block Notched to allow Scat Rods
New Head Bolts
All New Bearings throughout bottom end
Cylinder Head has been Ported, Polished and Gas Flowed including ground flush valve guides to aid airflow and improve turbo response and power output
New Water Pump
New Oil Pump
New Cam belt
Painted rocker cover and inlet manifold
Engine had covered 12,000 miles before it was fitted and had monthly oil and filter changes. The oil was also changed when it was fitted by Pukka Performance. (3/07/2009)
Turbo Setup:
Td04L clocked and rebuilt turbo from an Imprezza Wrx
Speedvision Mild Steel Manifold and Downpipe
Speedvision Braided Oil Line and Silicone Return Pipe

Jam Racing Eyebrows
HID 6000k Xenon’s
Custom Sprayed Rota Gt3 16” Wheels
The Gearbox has been rebuilt by Southwest Transmissions using all new bearings and a full new synchro set from Toyota.
It has been filled with Silkolene Silktran 75w-90 which is arguably the best gearbox oil available.
On the stock engine with the Td04, it produced 202 bhp at the flywheel with 200.3 ft/lbs of torque at 1bar of boost. This figure is yet to be updated now the new engine is in, but I am confident it will be substantially more due to the headwork and the fact that it is practically a brand new engine.
This car is ready for more boost and a hell of a lot more power should the next owner want. I’m not kidding when I say it is already very quick with a similar power-to-weight ratio (220+bhp/tonne) of a Porsche Cayman S. I’m sure other starlet owners would vouch for this. Therefore I would not recommend this car to a driver without good previous experience, it may not last very long otherwise!
The paintwork overall is excellent (as you can imagine with it being re-sprayed) with the exception of a tiny ding and scratch in the n/s wing and the usual wear and tear scratches from car parks. There is a small creak coming from the n/s coilover top mount. This can be addressed by cleaning and re-lubing the top mount.
Apart from that there is nothing else wrong visually or mechanically that I can find.
My thread on uksc shows the cars history and development with plenty of pics and info: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....showtopic=13176
I really hope it will go to an owner of tgtt or uksc as I’d love to see it progress further and not be abused or ruined after putting so much time, money and effort into it. I’m sure every starlet owner on here would want the same for their car.

Part-Ex: Would consider a nice Audi S3
