gearbox oil????

alrite guys, bought some castrol synthetic oil for my manual gearbox 75w-85 will this do??? also how much in litres will the box hold????

Anyway, around 2 / 2.5 ltrs is the norm,
Easy way to do is to take the level fill bolt out and fill it untill it pours out.

I've always used 75w85 Castrol SMX-S in the GT, after nearly 4 years and 40,000 miles I can highly recommend it. The box should take near on 2 litres to fill, but I doubt you'll get every drop of oil out of a couple of 1 litre containers. I usually buy 3 mainly because I'm impatient.

Just to point out, the bolt on the top of the box shown in that link is not a filler plug. The filler plug is on the front of the box, the bolt in the top holds the lock plate in for the selector shaft. There's no saying you can't remove that bolt to fill the box with fluid, but I would advise that the gear stick is not moved without that bolt installed.

how often should gear oil be changed ive owned my glanza 4 years now never changed it but as im buying spark plugs fuel filter and few other things for full service was going to change gear oil also. and is it worth buying more expensive oils

basically texx u could remove the filler bolt in the pic as long as you make sure u do it back up and dont touch gear stick until this is done??
