i know one guy who used matt black spray meant for BBQ's on his calipers, i used enamel paint that comes in 'Humbrol' tubs.

I have used that on motorbikes, in the past and it does fine , i even used it on my bike exhaust, it's fairly tolerant with heat to a point of course.

we used hammerite for painting the block on my last engine, looks great.

BBQ paint is also good, as is plastikote metal protekt

heatwise: exhaust manifolds / turbo area would be too much.

worth pointing out we used the brush-on hammerite, thinned out and put through a spray gun

I put a couple of coats of gold hammerite on my calipers and its never come off.

I wire brushed them first and then dusted them off and got a nice finish on them.
