Hand brake dash light coming on... but the hand brake is off...:(

it wont stop the problem, but will get you by for a few days until he gets a chance to sort it. better to have brake fluid and a leak rather than no brake fluid!!

If the brake pads are getting low that would make the level of the fluid drop down.

This is commonly overlooked. People top up brake fluid until the pads have completely gone off! So dangerous.
