Just thought your handling should already be pretty good with your current mods :p as others have already stated anti-lift, LSD & bushings

alrite mate, do you know if the rear axle bushes are hard to fit??

:confused:Spend the money increasing the power rather than improving the handling.

i know what your on about spending the money on power rather than handling,

but why does everyone say td04?
the reason i brought my starlet, and why i expect many people on here bought them, is because they are a unique and uncommon car (unfortunately not as much any more), so if wanting to be 'different from the norm' why do people then all go and stick all the same turbo's on?

Cos they do the job and they are cheap to replace.

Also at 1.2 bar and over they are feckin fast!!!! ;)

no point havin a fast lil starlet and it cant handle well lads!!

take your time and spend your money on bits of power and handling

ohh rite... well i just got my whiteline rear anti roll bar and anti lift kit from dave b yesterday..

handy to fit???

The rear anti-roll bar is easy enough just need to drill some holes in the chassis and get 2 pieces of angle iron to give it a bit more support there is/was a tutorial on the austarlet site.

The anti lift kit is worth fitting but you'll need a bench grinder to get the old bushings off as you have to cut through a metal ring... It worth replacing all the bushing on the lower arm, but I found it took a good deal of swearing.

A full list of TRD bushings is here... but I haven't had much luck with some of them.

This is where I got the other lower arm bushings.

Now now lads, no falling out in my thread please!

@Asifatyard21 what diff did you go for mate? I'm seriously thinking about the quaiffe. LSD, alk, and f/r arbs should make apretty substantial difference. Anyone else done these mods?

F and R anti roll bars get the front with whiteline links/bushings..Rear bar is a must...some coilovers if not the konis will do for now..

Change all bushings and mounts and get an engine damper. Decent tires

No one has mentioned tyres yet.

They always seem to be overlooked, which makes no sense given that they're the only think stopping your little hatch from throwing itself off the road. Upgrading the brakes or suspension components is a good idea, but getting better tyres will make the most out of the upgrades. The is no point fitting umpteen strut braces and massive brakes to a car if the coefficient of friction (ie, how much grip a tyre has) remains the same. Granted, fitting anti-lift kits and camber adjustable parts might help, but only because the suspension geometry is being changed to affect the way the suspension reacts to situations or to increase the contact patch of the tyres.

Getting stickier tyres will also mean the car is less prone to spinning through the gears and will be able to change direction quicker.

Monkfish. The sane voice of reason in a mad, mad world!

You make a good point dude. I just think people don't mention tyres because they are something that get changed on a fairly regular basis anyway. But while on the subject, what would you recommend dude?
