Oh, thats a strange one alright.

no, its constant, hot or cold. its just got the rumble similar to that of a subaru. it isnt as smooth as my other 2 starlets.

i havnt had the head off as the engine leaks oil and the gearbox is shit so im just going to refresh the whole engine when i have some time.

it could be any manner of things, but i have tried everything on my car and it has made no difference. the fact it is getting worse and only does it when the engine is cold, doesnt matter about the outside temp makes me think its the valves in my case

Just thought I would report my intermitant starts ( for about 3 yrs ) were fixed today. Last week was a new battery with bigger capacity but still had intermittant starting. Then the starter died and was replaced but the auto electrician said the start circuit was losing 3 volts due to old wiring and the long pathway through the ignition.

The solution > He used the old circuit to activate a relay which switches power directly from the battery to the starter on a new circuit.
The result > Frist time start every time even using my remote control starter.
