Well lads and ladies,
I think my head gaskets is gone. I noticed good few bubbles on the dip stick and needed to top up the rad a good bit say half?.
Checked oil cap seems fine not white chunk. I want to do the liquid test check for carbon dixoide first.
My question is what's need to fix it apart from gasket head bolts anything else?
Thanks

Youll need to get the head skimmed too, take out all the valves and give them a good clean, make sure the stems of them are clean so they dont catch. And youll have to grind them in. Replace the valve stem oil seals, Id put in a new timing belt kit and water pump too. Do you have all the correct tightening torques and the correct tightening order?

All you need to do is the actual headgasket, headbolts and maybe a skim if its uneven.

You can of course do the others suggested by they aren't always nessecary.

get it checked before skimming it. once the metal is removed it can never go back. it may not be warped so may not need a skim.

For the price of doing the head and bits to go with it be pricy I would imagine . Engine compression is at 150 all across 4 cylinders @ 245000k so worn engine could be better going for rebuild or find a good engine better for money wise?
