how do you get the bellhousing off the gearbox?

i cant right now soz
got all the bolts removed but it comes off so far then stops is there something connected to it from the gearbox still holding it together?

check around the housing for a bolt , it is prob holding the reversr selector rod inside gearbox and aso did u take big nut of top of main shaft

is the bell houasing not the last part to remove? ie, you have to take off everything else before the bell housing?

theres a wee reverse gear thing that needs to be disconnected before the box comes apart. its held together in such a way that it can be manipulated apart. have a look.

yeh the box is off the car everything is removed

yeh found that held to the bellhousing by two 12mm bolts
do you take these out?

if you cant figure out how to disconnect the two parts of it then yes take the bolts out, you will have to do it the hard way going back in though

if you take one bolt out and try to slide it to the side like a hinge will that work?

maybe, might spin round and disconnect that way. i never did it that way.

i took both bolts out. then checked out what way to put it back together the other way for reassembly
