Evening all
I am new to the forum after getting involved (foolishly) with my sons engine swap in his Glanza V from an EP91 that had gone pop to an EP82 forged etc. he saw the engine running so it was ok..
He hasnt let me anywhere near it yet so i am trying to diagnosis by phone and using the internet and experience of engines i gained probably 30 odd years ago!!!!
The problem - It wont start - initially i had found out he hadnt changed the thermostat housing which i got him to do, all other sensors are from the EP91 and the wiring loom is all EP91, it did have a very weak white spark and then packed up a couple of days ago so after getting him to do some checks i came to the conclusion that it had to be the coil or the ignitor, these have been changed today and there is a nice healthy blue spark however it still wont start!
I have asked him if the ignition timing is set up properly and he has said he doesnt think he has knocked it during install but i think this may be a possible explanation.
could any of you please give me the benefit of your vast experience and knowledge?

Well first thing will be the ignition timing :)
10 degrees, with the car in diagnostic mode by bridging te1 and e1.
Then check for injectors pulsing. Pull the rail and injectors out and crank engine.
Then make sure cam timing is all good :)

first of all check if he has fixed the earth wire (negative) on the intake manifold (to the IACV bolt). If thats not fitted it wont start..
(Injector Negative line)
