why would you put a 4e in an ugly ass car like that, thats alot heavyier than a starlet, when you could just buy a starlet, which looks better, goes better, and is better in every way lol :homer:

i agree, i cant see how going from a 1.6i to a 1.3 turbo is going to make it much quicker. the turbo engine in a starlet is quick, but put it into a much bigger car, cant see it working well.
also the seller goes on a lot about how his corolla is a tte version. never heard off tte version, so assuming its a rare limited edition. so why the hell change it. obviously the 1.6 in the corolla tte is going to be alittle more powerful than a standard 1.6 corolla. changing the engine can only devalue it.

i know, i am going to buy a focus st, and the put a escort 1600 rst engine in.
just wouldnt be right!!!!!!!!!!

The 1.6 engine is the same as any other Corolla in that make/year. 110 hp, nothing special.. It would be alot easier for him if he'd put a 20v blacktop in that. And for the reference, a Corolla isn't VERY heavy compared to a fully loaded Glanza with airco/electric windows etc etc etc..

so a lot of time and effort to do the engine swap, for an extra 20bhp, doesnt seem worthwhile.

i have toyed with the idea of stripping my ep82 and dropping the lump into a classic mini, now that would be worthwhile for the power gains.

i had a 1975 998cc clubman that struggled to get to 60 on the flat, changed head, carb, inlet manifold and put full sports exhaust on and ended up being able to hit 110 on the flats.

was still prob only running maybe 60bhp, so dropping a 130bhp engine in would be worthwhile, compared to dropping it in to a corolla.
