The 1.6 engine is the same as any other Corolla in that make/year. 110 hp, nothing special.. It would be alot easier for him if he'd put a 20v blacktop in that. And for the reference, a Corolla isn't VERY heavy compared to a fully loaded Glanza with airco/electric windows etc etc etc..
so a lot of time and effort to do the engine swap, for an extra 20bhp, doesnt seem worthwhile.
i have toyed with the idea of stripping my ep82 and dropping the lump into a classic mini, now that would be worthwhile for the power gains.
i had a 1975 998cc clubman that struggled to get to 60 on the flat, changed head, carb, inlet manifold and put full sports exhaust on and ended up being able to hit 110 on the flats.
was still prob only running maybe 60bhp, so dropping a 130bhp engine in would be worthwhile, compared to dropping it in to a corolla.
