on another note if it was faster would the guys at engineering be able to modify the flywheel. Getting stuff from oversees is difficult from Africa. :( . What other model toyota gearbox flywheels would be compatible with the 5e.

Can you not get 5e fly from toyota??

I thnk in South afica you had a corolla turbo with the 1.5 12v engine which is a 3E-TE its basically a 12v older version of the 5EFE. The fly fits but also takes the bigger 212mm clutch of the starlet turbo

correct 3et flywheel bolts to the 5e and uses the same larger clutch surface area and fitment as the 4efte.

Get onto aasco and get a custom 5e flywheel thy lets you use the 4e clutchs like I have, like 240 quid

That's at the groupbuy price though, Retail is around £290 for the flywheel alone, no postage, no VAT.

But yes, get a stock one, as the Corsa GP Turbo (1987-89 model only) WAS sold in South Africa so should be readily available, as it is readily available here in the UK as well via Toyota

ive done the modification to a 4e fly wheel with no troubles at all
i just uses the thin thingy that bolts to the crank on a auto 5e to get the correct bolt parten and spacing fabricated a piece the would go through bothe wheels at the same time fitted verry tight to hold them in place. then drilled the holes in a drill press . so the 5e holes are exactly in the centre on the space between the 4e holes. my fly wheel can now be used on either
