idle

hey guys
just started my new forged engine tonight
it ran but idle was really low about 500 rpm and the engine would die if you gave it a wee rev?
dont think the atamatic choke came on either
any ideas?
its a fully forged bottom end, ported and polished head with cams and cruise springs.

yes i think so
the cams are 262 deg and 8mm lift

Double check your cam timing.
Sounds like its a tooth out on the inlet side.

the cams are out now any way the exhaust cam leaked oil through the bolt where the cam gear goes on due to there not being a bearing inside the cam like the standard ones do and also the thread for the bolt was off set causing the bolt and cam gear to move about.

were did you get your engine built and if you dont mind me asking how much did it cost you.

we built it ourselves only got the block built with crank rod and pistons in it by tm devlopments.
