Looking at a car but he says it's sat for a few years, he said it starts and drives ok, is there anything what I can look out for that could happen due to it not been used?

you may want to consider checking the water pump, rad. cap, thermostat, turbo water/oil lines, fuel injectors, dist. cap and rotor.
the 4efte I have in my car now has been sitting on the floor for almost 3 years before I did the swap and TBH I haven't replaced any of those I just dropped the engine, filled all the fluids and drove away happily.

the oil seals will most likely leak if they are the original ones, but the engine will most likely run if it has been kept in decent conditions.

Just drop a teaspoon of oil down the bore and crank it over a few times before firing it up, providing everything else is in good condition don't see no reason why it wouldn't start :)
