I'm a noob to turbocharging in general since my car is a Tercel and not a Starlet.. I'm looking to buy the WEPR hybrid TD04 kit for my 5efe and I was wondering what are the differences/advantages of going with an internal wastegate or external wastegate? Please help..

also is there any kind of performance increase from having a screamer pipe? or is it just better to have it routed back into the downpipe or exhaust

rep added thanks

Either or, but be carefull as to where you route it back in.

If incorrectly positioned it can play around with the boost levels, as the exhaust then acts as a vacume source, and pulls the gasses through the External wastegate.

no gains to be had, apart from better boost control.

like i said i'm still new to the whole concept of turbo's except having driven a stock Dodge SRT-4 Neon.. i'd be gettin the piping done before i got the kit from WEPR.. i was wondering did better boost control justify an extra 350usd for the kit

If your going to be running alot of boost, then yes it is, but from what i can tell the standard actuator is more than capable of controling moderate boost hikes.

Its entirly up to what you want at the end of the day.
