as turbo jim said, super strut suspension is ££££ if they break!

i used to have a bzg and was a fun, comfy car to drive around in. i had not a single problem with mine, but insurance can be a killer though. i went to honda, from a bzg.

tuning potential, there is not much. as they quote these have 160-165bhp, i got mine rr'd and it made 147bhp. the black top engines are weak and normal upgrades are the silver top (AE101) rods etc. parts are difficult to get hold of.

it depends what your buying it for, but if your looking for lots of power etc etc, i wouldnt get one.

ya superstrut is shocking as the lads said.also the bzg is acually quicker due to the 5 speed and shorter gear ratios to the bzr.bzg also looks way better. also i am right in saying there just about as quick as a civic.iv had one of these for a few days.i know;)

I know a lad who went to toyota the last day for superstrut bushions cause he said he couldnt get them spurious.Needless to say he came out not looking happy.:(

first of all my family wagon which looks like a tank will piss all over your stupid civic in the corners and on straights you seem like one of those sorta people that get angry when a civic loses to a levin on a video and whats my car got to do with it anyway? This is a thread about toyota levins i also used to own a levin the second thing is on the video i posted where that levin beat that ek9 there was nothing said it was turbo or supercharged its non turbo read the bloody comments lol and i know people with superstrut levins with well over 200,000 km on them they have never had a problem with them at all

from experience it will take a sir no prob but not type r i found that out the hard way ha ha i had mine for nearly 2 years but super strut forced sale what were they thinking a small pot hole was like driving into a wall ha ha and parts are very hard to come across 9 times out of 10 i had to go to toyota and that ment £££££££££ ha ha

who said anything about owning a civic?im saying a stock civic would be in arond the same speed as a stock levin.now video of them neck to neck

and by the way im the most anti civic person i know so i would far from vouch for them.im saying the levin isnt quick,about the same as a gammy civic.oh and with the superstrut we just know from irelands rough roads the superstrut goes quickly.perhaps where your from the roads are smooth

Why putting AE101 rods (they are more heavy then the AE111 rods) in the AE111?

The Blacktop engine is NOT a weak engine. It is true yes that they usually put out a bit under the 160 165 hp benchmark. The blacktop is only weaker when going to install a supercharger or turbo. Then you should get the silvertop (or the 4A-GZE)
But, If you take a look what aftermarket stuff is available...
Other cams, other ECU, aftermarket headers, catback systems, T3 stacks..

A friend of mine had a 20v bone stock in his ae92 GTi with only 2,5" catback and stacks and made 140+ whp! Here's the video of that dyno run:

140 hp at the wheels isnt bad at all i reckon toyota got that 160 to 165 hp reading from the engine thats a good result :)

Having driven a friends one before, they aren't fast, but like civics they handle great and the 4agze sounds great! They look nice with the bomex front and trd wing ;)

to say what you said and you know very little, as it seems you just read the brochure's of everything and some how you've still driven or beaten everything in your car just seems over the top!

im not honda bashing, but your claims are rubbish, and im getting tired of it!

im only saying there is not much tuning potential, you would have to spend alot to get not many gains. and i can only go by advise which was given to me.
