Hi all,

recently people have commented on the amount of users, particularly new users, who do not enter a location when registering.

I have made the location field mandatory now so new users will be forced to fill it in. Also if you make any changes to your profile it will force you to enter a location also, just to warn you :)

Are we still able to put useless information in our location then, ie location: drives like a criminal, or will be the in our user profiles?

the person who reported the spam bot got rep (damn its all about the rep)

you can put whatever you like in there :) just too many people were joinging and putting nothing in and posting stuff like "is there somewhere near me that will tune an emanage" -- we were then supposed to magically know where this person was..

That's it...no work is getting done in the 8 hours I'm at work, I'm not going out when I get in from work...... lol all about the rep power YO! :homer:

Not having a dig but as above ^^^ what is the point, especially when we have admin with location as "on another poxy long haul flight" like said not having a dig, but why would people put there location when others put stuff that's clearly not a location they live at.

Just my quick penneth worth and to point out why there could be flaws.

well.. the point is the majority of people registering were putting nothing in... now the majority of people registering are putting real places in which I get a report on and confirm is the case.


As for Admin having stuff such as "on another poxy long haul flight" I am constantly travelling at the moment so I dont have a location - prior to this I had where I lived in there. Same with what I drive, it changes monthly so I cant be more specific.

This was requested by a few members now it is mandatory to fill in a location. Dodgy users can put in any location they want but that was never the point. The point, as I already stated above, was if someone comes on saying "can you recommend someone near me that can tune an emanage" it is more likely now that they will have their location so you dont have to ask where they are.
